NOSEBLEED

Synopsis

Nosebleed is an experimental arthouse dance film (10 min.), where we see Maya in a guided interaction in which she unfolds her darkest desires in an interplay of trauma and liberation, of pain and pleasure, in search of her equilibrium. Which is sometimes vulnerable and tender, other times destructive and dark. Using an absurdist and unconventional poetic narrative, this film explores taboos surrounding trauma, sexuality and intimacy partly inspired by Yoko's triculture (Brazilian, Japanese, Dutch).

YOU FEEL A TRACE OF WARMTH, A TRACE OF GRADUAL FLOW.
IT SLOWLY SLIDES OUT OF ONE OF YOUR NOSTRILS AND
IS ONLY VISIBLE TO YOU WHEN YOU TOUCH IT AND
HOLD IT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE
In a whirlwind of Maya's darkest desires, she rediscovers her vices and stands face to face with her past trauma.
- Yoko Haveman

Nosebleed tears apart taboos, exposes scars, and balances on the edge of pain and pleasure. With this, Yoko aims to take the first step towards a candid sexual climate, demonstrating that sexuality and desire do not have to be vulgar or obscure.
